Dynamic Neurofeedback

an invaluable help for your brain

Neurofeedback is an advanced technique of brain training that originates from the development of neuroscience. A computer program, an EEG electro-encephalogram and an audio (music) support are used. This method, without any undesired side effects, allows the brain to reorganize and regulate itself by informing it about its state and stimulating its main features, which are:

Neuroplasticity

Resilience

Cognitive capacity

Where does Neurofeedback come from?

Neurofeedback is the result of spectacular progress in the fields of Neuroscience, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics and Neurophysiology in the last century. Thanks to neuro-science, our understanding of the brain has been completely renewed.

The computer science has seen extraordinary progress both in speed and in computing power that allow, today, to better analyze what happens inside the brain. The use of powerful new generation multi-core microprocessors allow now the NeurOptimal® system to perform an EEG analysis 256 times per second. The applied mathematics, the studies of nonlinear dynamical systems, the neuronal researches (i.e. the non-linear analogical calculators) of Dennis Gabor, Nobel Prize winner for Physics in 1971, allowed the development of the new generation Neurofeedback: NeurOptimal®.

Neurophysiology is the study of the functions of the nervous system, which is based on all levels, from the molecular level to the most integrated level of neuronal resources. It is a multidisciplinary science, located at the intersection of other biological sciences (neuroanatomy, neuroendocrinology, neuropharmacology, etc.) and behavioral (neurophysiological, psychiatric, ...)

How does Neurofeedback work?

"NEURO": It means that we will be interested in the functioning of brain neurons. The cortical cerebral activity is analyzed through five sensors placed on the ears and on the cranial case that work as receptors and therefore do not send any type of electrical signal to the brain.

What is Neurofeedback NeurOptimal®?

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback system is designed to focus on the central nervous system, the crossroad of all the functions of the human body. This advanced technique is widely practiced in the United States, Canada and Europe by more and more Trainer both in private and public fields. For instance, the US military uses it to help war veterans often suffering from psychological problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder. . In France, it has been used daily by the Parisian hospital of Pitié Salpetrie since 2010. Also other health institutions around the world are making extensive use of it and above all, an increasing number of scientific studies confirm its validity and effectiveness. NeurOptimal® is a technology based on information

The biggest feature of NeurOptimal® is that it has been conceived from the beginning to approach the brain as a non-linear dynamic system, what we call "Dynamical Neurofeedback". Since the brain itself is a non-linear system, "Dynamical Neurofeedback" interacts in a non-linear way; it is as if we were communicating with the brain in its own language. No diagnosis, treatment or planning is required. NeurOptimal® simply provides the brain with the information it needs to self-regulate, self-repair, and reorganize itself. Thanks to the dynamical Neurofeedback, the brain becomes more flexible and plastic, which translates into a better quality of life for the client.

NeurOptimal® works with the instabilities of your brain

When the brain begins to move towards instability, when it exceeds a certain threshold (excess of internal variability), when it is inside a particular frequency range (which we call "target"), the sound stops briefly. Listening to relaxing music is a coherent process and the brain is used to anticipating its trajectories. The interruption of music, which takes place in the exact millisecond following an excess of internal variability, disturbs the expectations of coherence of the brain. In this way, it will try to interpret and understand the reason for this interruption. It is a completely involuntary process, that does not require any intervention from you. It is the feedback! You are sitting or lying down and with your eyes closed, and your brain will do the rest, reacting to stimuli. Over time, the brain recognizes its instabilities and begins to react to them instead of stay passive, thus developing better resilience and greater flexibility.

No voluntary effort

NeurOptimal® does not "force" the brain, it does not "direct" it, it does not “push” it by saying what it has to do. NeurOptimal® provides information to the client's brain about his own activities, this is it.

The brain deals autonomously with its reorganization. NeurOptimal® returns information to the brain about its state rather than directing it on what it should do. The client does not have to do anything, no voluntary effort is required.

A real-time analysis

Dynamical Neurofeedback works in real time with the brain. It is therefore a very powerful and cutting-edge tool. Thanks to unparalleled accuracy in the sampling frequency of our brain's electrical activity, analyzing it 256 times per second and the obtained data are processed with incredible filtering accuracy, targeting, and detecting reactions with high accuracy.

The dynamic variability threshold (which gives the name to the Dynamical Neurofeedback) is extremely well defined. Practically, this means two things: The first is that NeurOptimal® works regardless of the state in which the customer is, and at any given time. This is why there is no need to diagnose or evaluate the patient before the session. For example, when a customer arrives tired at a session, NeurOptimal® adapts to the client’s state and works with it, that state, at that time.

"Overtraining" is not a problem at all!

Second, the special dynamic targeting procedures of NeurOptimal® are a powerful reorganization support, which allows the transformation of the client in a safe and optimal way, without side effects.

An essential concept in the Neurofeedback: the Attractor

An attractor is a sort of energetic maelstrom that channels brain energy in a dysfunctional way, wasting it and making it unavailable for a more efficient functioning of the brain. The more attractors there are, the more the brain is fatigued and loses its elasticity. At the neurophysiological level, the attractors are constituted by imbalances between excitatory and inhibitory neurons, located in specific brain frequencies. With the Neurofeedback, they are detected in the form of "peaks" located at the aforementioned frequencies. The attractor is formed as a result of life experiences that have traumatic impact and what keeps him active are our habits, our behaviors, mental patterns.

The origin of the attractor can be emotional, physical, genetic or consequent to an illness. Because of this, the perceived reality changes and with it our behavior. These modifications are represented and physically inscribed within the neural circuits, constantly molded by experience.

NeurOptimal© contributes to the reabsorption of attractors that, with the progress of sessions, lose their power of energy channeling. Remains the memory of the physical or psychological traumas that caused them, but their harmful consequences are removed. Energy is available to be used again effectively and no longer wasted. All this without necessarily having to go through the evocation of painful memories, in fact, Neurofeedback is a non-verbal approach.
